We will have the privilege of standing face to face with the mighty Egyptian goddess Sekhmet, at her seat of power in Luxor. This tiny chapel has held the most significant Sekhmet statue for 3500 years.
Derived from the Egyptian word "Sekhem" (which means "power"), Sekhmet is often translated as the "Powerful One." Sekhmet is a warrior goddess and a goddess of healing. She has a dual nature, being both a creative and destructive force. But above all, she is the protector of Ma'at (divine truth, balance, and justice). She was the patron of Physicians and Healers, and the priests of Sekhmet became known as skilled doctors.
This ancient lion-headed being offers supreme spiritual protection as she stands up to and eliminates negative forces and their influence. She is a ferocious warrior of the Divine in the feminine form that protects our soul and clears the way to manifest our light. We will learn more about her history and powers during our time at the chapel.
